Zespół Szkół Mechanicznych is the oldest vocation school in podlaskie province and one of the biggest in north-east of Poland. We educate our teenagers in mechanical and car lines. The school was established in 1921 and we are celebrating 85th anniversary this year. 21000 students have graduated from our school so far.

According to the resolution of City Board from 1st 09. 2004 CKP nr 2 was set up in Zespół Szkół Mechanicznych. Our school is the model to follow in the field of the quality of education, using modern and innovative programs of teaching. Our school helps the students to achieve the diploma of Technical University. We also equip our students with the knowledge of how to set up an economic activity or simply how to search work in Poland's and the whole European Union's labour market. We are constantly introducing innovations into our methodology with the cooperation of OKE in Łomża and the Department of Vocational Training. We provide our students with modern teaching infrastructure:
In September 2006 our students Adam Citko and Artur Giczan won III and IV places in The International Championship. We also guarantee for the first class students socio-therapeutical classes, social help and classes with psychologists. Zespół Szkół Mechanicznych cooperate with technical associations and institutions who opt for modern technology. Among them there are: Polskie Stowarzyszenie Upowszechniania Komputerowych Systemów Inżynierskich w Warszawie, z Firmą ZERO OSN, NICOM Computers s.c We have many contacts with mechanic and automobile companies such as CSV , RYCAR, SCANIA, POZNAŃSKI AUTO, AUTO PODLASIE, TOP AUTO OPEL, TOYOTA, " CARCAL", " AUTO SERWIS WOJCIULA", " BLACHARSTWO- LAKIERNICTWO GOŁASZEWSKI", PROMOTECH, JAZON, TOOLCO, BISTAR, JR TECH. For the vocational training the issue of the greatest importance should be improving the quality, emphasizing the European cooperation. On 11th April 2003 our school signed the contact of international students exchanging project with Państwowe Centrum Kształcenia zawodowego in Jena-Goschwitz and since than the students have the opportunity to take part in the workship practice. The training project "The practical trainingin the sphere of technology CNC, mechatronics and construction with the help of the programme CAD" is being realized from 2004 till 2006 as a part of the Leonardo da Vinci programme. On 17th January 2005we signed the cooperation contract with the Srednia Odporna Skola in Unicov in the Czech Republic and on 4th of September with Scania company. On 22nd of September 2006 we signed the next partnership contract with the vocational school n Boskovice in the Czech Republic within the framework of which our students receive practical training under the auspicies of Citroen in the sphere of the automobile diagnostics. The international exchange of students and teachers gives the possibility of getting to know new technologies, gaining new experience, improving the language skills and obtaining new possibilities of employment. Our graduates can work in the countries of the whole European Union, thanks to the efforts of the headmasters and teachers from our school, ZSM. They will be competitive workers as far as the computer designing techniques and production in our Polish job-market but also in the EU markets.
